Graphics, Gameplay Update - Version 0.22

It's time for another update to Sol 0. This version (0.22) includes a few bug fixes that improve the gameplay, as well as some updates to the graphics. I've upgraded the project to Unity 4.2, which means real shadows are available. I've made this a toggle, so that if the shadows affect the performance of the game they can be reverted to the old shadows. Here's a picture with the new look:


I've also added a new resource window, accessible by clicking on the resources on the GUI. This gives a complete profile of where all the resources are going. This isn't really required to play the game, but some feedback suggested that having things a bit more transparent would be nice.


Other minor changes include:

  • Better pathfinding. Still not 100% where I want it, but much much better than before.
  • Fixed random air leaks and random colonist deaths.
  • Fixed cryotank errors that could prevent using the full amount in the cryotank.
  • Buildings now connect correctly (before some buildings could be placed in bad configurations).
  • Much better bulldozer/boulder interaction, moving small boulders actually works.
  • Other small fixes and some better modeling.
