I've posted the first major update since the alpha has been live. I received a lot of great feedback from the community, and have incorporated many of the ideas that were suggested. The largest change is the addition of a new rover navigation system. This makes the early game a lot more fun, when more time is spent exploring with the rover.
The rover now follows paths that you can set. This makes uncovering lots of terrain a much more automated process.
The rover also has a new window that contains a real-time view of the data the rover collects with its laser system. The graph is updated in real time as the rover drives around, giving you an idea of what exactly the rover has discovered. It looks pretty cool, and is fun to play with.
Other minor changes include:
Tutorial and notification windows to explain features and explain in detail how to deal with disasters.
The landscape now contains visual cues where resources can be found (dried up lakebeds, cracks in the ground... etc.) This is still a work in progress.
Zooming with the mouse scroll wheel, and addition of zoom buttons to the main GUI.
A notification appears on the main menu when a new version of Sol 0 is available.
Improved launchpad graphics.
Units no longer get stuck in buildings.
Solar panels do not all require maintenance at once.
